Helping hand toward self-sufficiency through education, agriculture, and small businesses in Sierra Leone and Ghana.

Creating Opportunities for all—COFA—was founded in 2021 to support projects developed and run by local social entrepreneurs, initially in Sierra Leone, one of the poorest countries in Africa. Funded projects aim to help educate and provide sustainable livelihoods for people who otherwise would not have those opportunities. Nourishing Young Minds and Bodies is an annual one-month summer program with teaching and lunch during the hungriest time of the year, when regular schools are out. In 2025, we taught and fed more than 2500 children in 11 schools. Since 2023 Growing Family Prosperity has provided the means for 55 families in 10 villages to become self-sufficient through agriculture, with 25 new families starting that journey in 2025. COFA also supports Bike Libraries for girls and boys to get to school, ReSeed, a micro-lending program, year-round schools, and several others. Our newest partner is the ASAA Foundation in Ghana, whose aim is to end “period poverty” among girls. https://cofa-opportunity.org
