Crossroads Farmers Market makes fresh, healthy food more accessible in the Takoma/Langley Crossroads. Founded in 2007, we were the first farmers market in Maryland to accept SNAP and WIC and the first nationwide to launch a "double dollar" program that matches the value of these federal nutrition benefits spent at the market. Our Fresh Checks program empowers families to put twice as much healthy food on the table while also supporting local farmers, many of whom are immigrants. For 18 years, Crossroads has pioneered a choice-based model to reduce food insecurity in Takoma Park by connecting low-resource shoppers directly with farmers so they can select the fruits and veggies they want. https://www.crossroadscommunityfoodnetwork.org/
