Crossroads Community Food Network

Connecting and empowering people through healthy food

Crossroads makes fresh, healthy food more accessible in the primarily immigrant, low-income Takoma/Langley Crossroads. Founded in 2007 to bring local produce to an underserved area, Crossroads was the first farmers market in Maryland to accept SNAP and the first market in the country to launch a “double dollar” incentive program to match federal nutrition benefits when people use them to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Shoppers bring home twice as much healthy food and, at the same time, support local farmers, most of whom are also immigrants. Over the last 17 seasons, we’ve distributed more than $1,000,000 in incentives to nearly 27,000 individuals, families, and seniors in our community.  crossroadscommunityfoodnetwork.org
