SAMU First Response is a nonprofit organization serving migrants arriving in Washington, D.C., and Montgomery County, Maryland, from the southern border. For the past 16 months, we’ve provided more than 12,600 migrants with a warm, safe, and dignified reception. SAMU sets the standard for quality of care, treating our guests as equals and with respect. Our multicultural team strives daily to deliver a trauma-informed, holistic approach within both our reception and respite operations. At SAMU, the care we provide extends beyond the basic needs, including connecting them or facilitating legal workshops, medical attention, therapeutic interventions, ESL language services, and more. samufirstresponse.org
